The Chef
 I’m Marianna, the pastry chef and founder of The Fork Tales. Born and raised in southern Italy, I grew up surrounded by the aromas of homemade desserts and the joy of family gatherings. My grandma and mum taught me the beauty of baking from scratch and the magic of sharing it with others.
I trained as a pastry chef in Italy and worked in renowned kitchens.
 My style blends the elegance of traditional Italian pastry with a fresh, modern twist—always made with seasonal ingredients and a touch of personal storytelling.

The forkone
The Fork Tales is the story of the Severino family. Our grandfather was affectionately nicknamed “Forkone” after a memorable mishap, and from then on, the whole family was playfully called “Forkone,” “Forketta,” and similar variations. Grandma was a master in the kitchen, baking bread and pizza in her traditional wood-fired oven. Her home was filled with the comforting aromas of freshly baked bread, bubbling tomato sauce, rich homemade cheese, and fragrant herbs like basil and oregano—a sensory experience that wrapped us in warmth and tradition.
In 2025, The Fork Tales was re-born to preserve these cherished family stories and culinary traditions, bringing them to life with a fresh and creative twist.

My Style
At The Fork Tales, my approach blends the elegance of traditional Italian pastry with a creative, modern twist. I focus on balance—soft, moist sponges layered with silky creams, light textures, and deep, comforting flavours. My signature style leans toward refined simplicity: every element has a purpose, and nothing is overdone. I believe the best desserts don’t shout—they speak softly and stay with you.
My philosophy
My philosophy is rooted in seasonality, freshness, and intention. I don’t believe in shortcuts or mass production. I believe in baking with care, using fresh, seasonal ingredients—even if that means waiting until strawberries are actually in season. Every dessert is made to order, designed with the person it’s for in mind.
My story starts in my family's kitchen in Italy.
I grew up with the smell of fresh desserts in the air—pastiera for Easter, struffoli at Christmas and so much more. My grandma and mum made everything from scratch, and I loved every second of being in the kitchen with them. That’s when I realised baking was more than just food—it was love, connection, and tradition. And that’s exactly what I try to put into everything I make today.
The Fork Tales is more than a bakery. It’s a way to honour those stories, keep the tradition alive, and turn it into something new—something that speaks to today, while never forgetting where it came from
